Linlithgow Round Table was formed in 1959. The first Chairman was Mel Gray who also founded the Linlithgow Canal Society.
The Table has maintained a strong membership over the years. It's success is down to being a open and friendly club which welcomes new members., and having an interesting calander of events.
In past years, we have visited Belhaven Brewery, Hampden Football museum, Roselyn Chapel, HMS Invincible, and many other places. One highlight was a guided tour by Lord Linlithgow around his family home, Hopetoun House...and a few drinks!
There have been guest speakers such as Iwan Tukolo, the rugby internationalist, International Rescue, and wine and whisky experts.
Other activities have included go-karting, archery and golf.
We have raised around £250000 over the past 25 years from our events all of which has been distributed back to the local community. Money has gone to lots of different causes from local playgroups to the football and rugby clubs to local societies. There are also many very deserving and distressing causes where we give funds but do not publicise.
